Whenever a new year rolls around I like to take inventory of my closet and spend some time purging and organizing. Part of curating a timeless wardrobe means investing in essentials like a great blazer. As a California girl living in sunshine, a great blazer is a year-round layering piece that I grab often. Blazers are my favorite clothing piece because they are extremely versatile and designers are always finding ways to reinvent them!
We all know velvet is one of the hottest trends so I couldn’t help but buy this midnight blue velvet Balmain blazer while I was in New York. Being Balmain, the velvet is of course super luxurious, rich, and um..velvety! Because wearing a blazer can often make it seem like you are headed to work, I styled a Balmain t shirt underneath and wore a pair of dark navy jeans. In keeping with the dark (black, navy) and gold color combo, I finished off the look with a black and gold Saint Laurent bag!
I’ve been all about layering recently and this Veronica Beard blazer creates the perfect illusion of a layered look! This light grey blazer features a removable black cable knit that not only adds warmth but also elevates any outfit! The popularity of this blazer has led her to create it in various fabrications and color ways so if you’re looking for the perfect blazer, check out Veronica Beard’s. And the best part is you can purchase a basic black or navy Veronica Beard blazer and buy multiple “Dickey’s” to switch in and out depending on the look you’re trying to create!
While in LA, I found this gorgeous Givenchy blazer and knew I just had to have it! I love the black and white stripes, especially the way its done on the collar! This classic twist on a blazer makes this jacket so unique! I choose to pair it with all black and a Hermes belt to let the blazer be the center of attention! It was perfect for the LA weather (chilly in the morning and warm in the afternoon!) This photo was taken at the Montage Hotel where we stayed during our trip! The hotel had such a beautiful garden and was only a 2 minute walk away from Rodeo Drive and a slew of amazing restaurants making it the perfect place to stay!
