Whenever a new year rolls around I like to take inventory of my closet and spend some time purging and organizing. Part of curating a timeless wardrobe means investing in essentials like a great blazer. As a California girl living in sunshine, a great blazer is a year-round layering piece that I grab often. Blazers are my favorite clothing piece because they are extremely versatile and designers are always finding ways to reinvent them!
I can’t help it, every season I manage to spot a new trend on the runway that I must participate in. To start, this means translating the exaggerated runway looks into more wearable street style looks.
Is it just me or are statement dresses having a major moment right now? The holiday season may be behind us but that shouldn’t stop you from putting your party dress on. I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for an excuse to throw on an oh-so-chic statement dress and making a notable entrance. Whether it’s a birthday celebration or date night, I can always find a reason to dial up the glamour.
The rule of statement-making dresses is easy; strike the perfect balance between opulence and practicality. While clean lines and simple silhouettes are always safe I would rather go bold, think revealing necklines with exposed shoulders, exaggerated ruffled detailing, feathers and form-fitting silhouettes. Make a sartorial splash by pairing your statement dress with a timeless high-heel sandal or add a cool twist and pair it with white sneakers.

I would call myself a style chameleon. And that’s because my style is a full spectrum – one day I’ll be wearing a feminine and flirty dress and the next day a full leather on leather look. This outfit is in-between the two.
I love the way this Caroline Constas skirt drapes! It is so flowy and lightweight making it perfect for the weather in LA. It also happened to pair perfectly with these Malone Souliers pumps! I wasn’t sure if I wanted to throw on the leather jacket but I ended up doing it because I love the feminine and edgy mix!
