Travel Guide: Positano

July 10, 2019

What could be more charming than spending several days vacationing in this colorful cliffside village overlooking Italy’s seaside? This swanky destination has become very popular all over Instagram and among the jet set.

Where to Stay
Le Sirenuse: This hotel has a prime location and Italian hospitality on a whole other level. It is conveniently located in the center of town and connected with the most popular beach in Positano with the colorful umbrellas. Just walk down several sets of stairs and weave between little streets and you’ll find yourself among the perfect backdrop for some amazing photos.

What to do
Rent a Boat: Positano is a very small town and there isn’t a whole lot of “activities” to do. But one thing I highly recommend is renting a boat to head down the Amalfi Coast. Relax and work on your tan while watching the vividly beautiful coastline from afar. You can also check out the grottos or take a day trip to Capri for some island exploring.

Explore the Town: Take some time to wander through Positano’s narrow, cobble stone streets. Lined with adorable boutiques this is the perfect place to shop for artsy items including hand painted ceramics and crochet clothing.

Eat gelato! Pretty much everywhere you go you will stumble across a gelato spot that will be worth checking out. I tried so many flavors and I think the limoncello was my favorite! 🍦

Where to Eat

II Tridente: This place has amazing views and the gnocchi is to die for!

Ristorante La Sponda: I went here for dinner on the first night as it was the restaurant inside the hotel I stayed at (Le Sirenuse).  You can tell from the first bite that the food is very fresh and it is the perfect dinner spot in a beautiful setting with a picturesque view.

Zass: Come here just before sunset for pre-meal drinks on the terrace.  Although I don’t drink, I heard that they have amazing wine.  I am a picky vegan and they had plenty of delicious options which can often be difficult to find when traveling.
